Shopify Development Services
Akif Wani builds and customises Shopify stores — custom themes in Liquid, conversion-focused product and checkout pages, app integration, and migrations onto Shopify from other platforms. Work ranges from targeted theme customisation to a full custom storefront build. Shopify suits merchants who want a hosted platform with no server maintenance and are comfortable with per-transaction platform fees.

What's included
Custom Shopify theme development
Themes built in Liquid rather than bought and patched, with sections and blocks your team configures from the theme editor. You get the layout you designed instead of the nearest available template.
Theme customisation and extension
If you already run a premium theme, targeted customisation extends it — custom sections, modified product templates, bespoke cart behaviour — without abandoning the theme's update path.
Product and collection page optimisation
Product pages are where the buying decision happens. Variant selection, imagery, specification detail, and social proof are structured so the add-to-cart action stays reachable and the information supporting it is actually readable.
Conversion and checkout work
Cart behaviour, upsell placement, trust signals, and mobile checkout flow, tuned against where customers actually drop out rather than against generic best-practice lists.
App integration and rationalisation
Integrating the apps you need and removing the ones you do not — every Shopify app injects scripts, and a store carrying fifteen of them is slow for reasons no theme change will fix.
Migration onto Shopify
Moving from WooCommerce, Magento, or a hosted builder onto Shopify, carrying products, variants, customers, and order history, with URL redirects mapped so rankings survive.
Who this is for
- Merchants who want a hosted store with no server, security, or update responsibility
- Brands on a default Shopify theme who have outgrown what the theme editor allows
- Stores with a working catalogue but a product page or checkout that underperforms
- Businesses migrating onto Shopify from WooCommerce, Magento, or a hosted builder
- Teams needing custom Liquid work their current developer cannot deliver
When this isn't the right fit
Shopify is the wrong platform if you need complex B2B wholesale pricing logic, full control over checkout on a standard plan, or want to avoid per-transaction fees entirely — WooCommerce handles all three better. If you are choosing between the two and those matter, say so during scoping and you will get a straight recommendation, including when that recommendation is not to use Shopify.
Process & timeline
- Step 1
Scope and platform check
24–48 hoursWhat the store needs to do, what it runs now, and an honest check that Shopify is the right platform for it. If it is not, you will be told during scoping rather than after the build.
- Step 2
Design
4–8 daysStorefront, collection, product, and cart layouts reviewed before development, with product page detail agreed first since it carries the conversion.
- Step 3
Liquid development
1–3 weeks depending on scopeTheme build in Liquid with configurable sections and blocks, developed against a development store you can review throughout.
- Step 4
Apps, payments, and testing
2–4 daysApp integration, payment and shipping configuration, and end-to-end test orders across devices and payment methods.
- Step 5
Launch
1 dayTheme publish, DNS, redirects from old URLs, analytics and e-commerce tracking, with first live orders monitored.
- Step 6
Handover and support
Ongoing by arrangementTraining on the theme editor and section configuration so your team can adjust layouts without a developer, plus a post-launch support window.

Shopify Development FAQs
How much does a custom Shopify store cost?
A custom Shopify storefront from Akif Wani starts at $1,000 for up to 15 products, with additional products from $150 per 15. Targeted theme customisation starts at $200 per page. Shopify's own subscription and per-transaction fees are paid separately to Shopify and are not part of the build quote. Every project is quoted at a fixed price in writing.
Should I use Shopify or WooCommerce?
Use Shopify if you want a hosted platform with no server, security, or update responsibility and your catalogue is reasonably straightforward. Use WooCommerce if you need B2B wholesale pricing, full checkout control, complex product logic, or want to avoid per-transaction fees. Shopify costs less operational effort; WooCommerce costs less at volume and gives you outright ownership.
Can you build a custom Shopify theme from scratch?
Yes. Custom Shopify themes are built in Liquid with configurable sections and blocks, so your team can rearrange layouts from the theme editor after handover. A custom theme delivers the design you specified rather than the nearest premium template, and typically loads faster because it ships only the features your store uses.
Can you customise my existing Shopify theme?
Yes. If you run a premium theme that mostly works, targeted customisation is usually the better value — custom sections, modified product templates, or bespoke cart behaviour added without abandoning the theme's update path. This is quoted per page or per section rather than as a full rebuild.
Why is my Shopify store slow?
On Shopify, slowness is usually app scripts rather than the theme. Every installed app injects JavaScript into your storefront, and a store carrying a dozen apps loads a dozen extra scripts on every page. The fix is auditing which apps genuinely earn their place, removing the rest, and then optimising theme assets and image delivery.
Can you migrate my store to Shopify from WooCommerce or Magento?
Yes. Products, variants, customers, and order history are migrated, with old URLs mapped to 301 redirects so search rankings and inbound links survive the move. The main planning work is matching existing plugin or extension functionality to Shopify apps, since they rarely map one-to-one. Migrations are quoted after reviewing your current catalogue and dependencies.
Can you do B2B or wholesale pricing on Shopify?
Limited wholesale functionality is possible through Shopify's B2B features on higher plans or through apps, but it is more constrained than WooCommerce's role-based pricing. If wholesale is central to your business, WooCommerce is usually the better platform and you will get that recommendation directly rather than being sold a Shopify build that fights the platform.
